Henan Hongke Heavy Machinery Co., Ltd. just completed the successful ignition of a brand-new Φ3×60m rotary kiln for phosphorus-laden sludge calcination at a customer site in Shandong, China. This is a completely new production line—not a refurbishment, not an upgrade of old equipment.
The Job: Turning Phosphorus Sludge into Fertilizer Feed
Our customer generates phosphorus-rich sludge from wastewater treatment. Landfilling was expensive. Simple incineration wasted the phosphorus. They wanted to recover the phosphorus for fertilizer production—and destroy the organic contaminants at the same time.
They wanted a brand-new, purpose-built kiln designed specifically for this material. No used equipment. No repurposed cement kilns.

Why Phosphorus Sludge Needs a Special Kiln
This material is tricky. It contains heavy metals that need to be removed. It needs specific temperatures to transform phosphorus into plant-available forms. And it has to burn cleanly to meet environmental rules.
